You know how it is with birds. Give them some seed, they want a cracker. Get them a cage, they want a perch.

According to the inventor, using the perch is safer than allowing the bird to sit on your shoulder, where they can can "peck, scratch, or bite the person's face, ears, head, etc". As you can see, the guy's shirt is pretty ripped up and on the larger pic his left eye is missing. The way this parrot's head is cocked, it looks like Polly's got some major attitude. She tore this cracker up!

The inventor doesn't know parrots. The device is positition below the shoulder, and therefore, as parrots usually go to the highest attainable point, the parrot will climb off the perch onto the shoulder. Trust me, I have several parrots and they all prefer high places. Also prefer broader grips, such as shoulders provide.
