This is actually an invention that I wish were widely used.

I chose it because it brought up interesting question. The inventor freely admits that her invention "is so simple in structure that it can be constructed by just folding a paper." Should something so simple be patentable?

I think so. After all, what is a paper clip, but a folded piece of wire? Yes, origami should be patentable. Whoever invented the paper crane must be raking in the royalties!
