Flying craft tethered to powered water vehicle

Unexpected tetherings, not something I think about very much, but recently two were patented on the same day. What is an unexpected tethering? It’s when something really tiny pulls something much larger, like this “flying craft.”

Is it this next greatest fad about to hit the nation? Will it be popular enough to get Vanilla Ice a “Where are they Now?” spot on Entertainment Tonight? Hey, it worked with reality television and competitive jet skiing…

Personally I’d feel safer on a speedboat wearing stilts, but this looks way cooler. Passengers and pilot sit in the “winged flying craft,” while remotely controlling the powered craft below. Air sick? Sea sick? Is there really a difference? Should one wear a life jacket or a parachute?
