This is one of those patents that should have never been awarded. The patent is on the use of LEDs to make scary glowing eyes. Come on. Glowing eyes are a staple of the horror genre. That's like claiming you invented "warm and fuzzy."

I Googled the inventor's name and the only Frank Beckings I found were a patent attorney in California and a German heavy-metal musician.

I recommend reading the full text of this patent. It's hilarious. My guess it was written as a joke, just to see if it got through the patent process. It claimed the invention may be used "in producing mass-hysteria."
